Hey there!

This is Shreya, and I am building The Bombay Box Company - a feminine hygiene subscription business - in public!

Gaby Goldberg has this fantastic Guide on Building in Public.

Why me?

Because I have been there, done that. Am I experienced enough? Yes - I have had the (privilege) of experiencing 182 (and counting) periods to date.

I also have a master’s degree in marketing, which I think is pretty useless, but might help me catch up with the business lingo and slang.

Why now?

20 years ago, I was an aimless 6-year old who couldn’t care less about the world. And more importantly, the 6-year Me was 6 years away from getting the shock of her life when she got her first period. So today, in order to educate little girls about periods, and pamper women like me who go through hell for a week every month, I am building The Bombay Box Company to educate, and empower.

Why this?

Well, because periods suck! And a never-ending sucking at that! I figured, if I, along with 3.5 billion other women are going to face the wrath of our ovaries and uterus every 3 weeks, I might as well try and make some money off it.

Why Bombay Box?

Well, because I couldn’t find any other generic names.

And, I also live in Bombay, India.

And when the Bomb Bay doors of my Box open every month, I can relate.

Why Building in Public?

Two reasons: Broke & Lonely bish!

I am Broke

A big thank you to the esteemed guests - Economy, Governments & the Pandemic! I am working on a shoestring budget to build the company, so I will need help, tips, and tricks from all of you in my journey to build the business. If I dont share, why would you?

&

I am Lonely

Entrepreneurship is a lonely affair. There will be hiccups along the way. And I do not want to stop in the middle of nowhere. And hence, I will need my community to come along with me in this journey of building The Bombay Box Company!

What can you expect?

(un)Hilariously relatable memes & gifs when you’re bleeding your uterus out!

Periodic stats on the business - Subscribers, Converts, Revenue

Me literally begging you for help or assistance because I knowingly or unknowingly fucked up!?

My experience building a small little business hoping it will change the lives of people who bleed, along with myself :)

Thank you for coming to my Ted talk!

If you are still not comfortable joining me right now, how about sharing this post with someone who might? I really dont spam man!
